This work ‘reanimates’ a picture of one of the unidentified gay men, killed by ISIS by throwing them off buildings.
It can be seen as an afterimage, mirroring the iconic Richard Drew photo of a ‘falling man’, who jumped from the World Trade Center during the 9/11 attacks in New York.
On another level, the animation refers to the relationship between the Al-Qaeda attacks in New York and the terror ISIS spreads through the Middle East.
